Update: Changes, Christmas and Cookies

Hello blogging friends!!

So as some of you may have noticed, I haven’t been blogging in a while and although I yet again I feel I have failed myself for not continuing with Blogmas and for stopping after a few days (like Blogtober), I also realise it was something I really needed to do. I put too much pressure on myself and with how I have been feeling over the last six months, it has all piled on top of me and I had to take a break. If I hadn’t, I probably would have ruined blogging for myself and effected parts of my life and mental health when I needed to focus on myself and getting to a place that was better for myself.

I won’t be blogging everyday between now and Christmas because I realised that I can’t blog everyday. It’s not something I could do and having so little time and ideas, I tried to fill the days that I struggled to blog with posts I didn’t enjoy writing or reading. Instead of taking my time, I rushed and therefore, changed my perspective on blogging when I made it stressful for myself and a lot of self doubt appeared. Taking a break has allowed me to refocus and think about things. I was able to remember why I enjoyed blogging and writing and sharing my thoughts and feelings with others. I was able to get a positive perspective on blogging again. So, I’ve decided that I’m going to be blogging two times a week at minimum and if I have any more posts that surprise me, I’ll be posting them too.

While on a break, I also figured out a lot of things that I want to change with my blog and my main focus is the content. I haven’t been enjoying the content I have been creating as much recently so between Christmas and New Year or however long it takes, I’m going to be focusing on the new things I want to write about and the changes I want to make to my blog. I’m hoping that in January, I may go self hosted and completely redesign my blog which is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I’m currently looking into different self hosting plans to try and choose the one I want so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

I’m also possibly going to be having a little blog change name especially if the new content I’m thinking of writing is successful and it’s something I continue with. If the name change occurs in the future, I will be letting you all know so keep your eyes peeled just in case.

When it comes to content, I’ll continue to write posts about places I’ve traveled to and holidays I go on etc but when it comes to other posts I’ve done like lifestyle, I’m going to be changing those on to what I really want to be writing about like being Eco-Friendly, caring for our planet and the animals we share our planet with. I want to raise awareness to these things and I’m hoping I’ll be able to go on a few trips that could help in raising awareness. I’d really like to volunteer in Africa in the future if I can and I feel this could help raise a lot of awareness for the damage we cause to our planet and nature.

I’m also going to include a few more health and food aspects to this blog as I really want to get into baking again and I’ve been doing a lot more cooking recently and experimenting with foods. I’ve also been reducing my meat consumption over the last year and in January, I’m taking part in Veganuary. Depending on if I’m successful or not after January, I am going to change my food lifestyle so that I will be a vegetarian and will have cut meat from my diet completely. I’ll be able to enjoy lots more vegetables and fruits and experiment with the things I love to eat and change them to fit my new lifestyle. It’s something I am very excited to try and see how it can make a difference to my health, lifestyle, animals and the planet. I’ll be making sure to write regular posts on how this all goes and include any updates, both good and not so good ones.

Now, with Christmas only a week away and I have still yet to complete my Christmas shopping (I’ve been so bad with it this year. But it is just my dad’s presents I need to get now!), I probably won’t be doing any other Christmassy posts except for a birthday post over this weekend and maybe something for Christmas Eve. I’m not entirely sure what it will include yet so depending on how I feel and if I’m inspired, I may not be doing any more Christmas posts but I don’t want to rule it out just yet.

Anyway, this Christmas will certainly be a lot different to last year as I’ve got a longer Christmas break from work (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and 27th off from work) compared to last year where I only had Christmas Day off. With these extra days this year, I’m going to have a long relaxing break and enjoy the Christmas holidays because although I may not be feeling as Christmassy this year, I’m not going to let it stop me from enjoying the best time of the year. Plus, Christmas Day’s dinner will consist of 15 people coming to my house and celebrating Christmas. It something we’ve not done in a long time and although it will be a lot of hard work, it will be worth it and a lot of fun!

I’m kind of hoping to be able to get to a Christmas market before Christmas is officially here and all those Christmas stalls disappear. I’d really like to see another market before Christmas is over even if it’s just to get hot chocolate or waffles. I love Manchester’s market and I don’t want that love for Christmas markets to end just yet especially when there won’t be any more until next year.

My final little update includes my new found love for Oreos covered in white chocolate. I found them yesterday at B&M and I’ve been snacking on them all afternoon. I’m trying to save a few to eat over the next few days but they are so tempting and there may be none left by the time my birthday arrives. I’m trying very hard to keep my temptation away and make them last. Maybe I’ll have to persuade my mom to get some more for me for Christmas!

For now, that’s a little update for where I’ve been the last few weeks. I’m off to enjoy some more Oreos and watch Tomb Raider.

Until next time,

Chloe xx

  1. Merry Christmas! I totally get the not finished shoppping part. My hubby had his hip redone after a year from the last one and then of course as luck would have it, a couple of days after the doctor tells him he can get off the walker and use a cane, I end up in the hospital with diverticulitis. So, I haven’t done any Christmas shopping at all. Oh well, there are always gift cards. Lol. I wil be looking forward to seeing your new direction and I promise to read all of your previous content. I love your site.

Glad the break has helped you, it’s definitely needed sometimes, and it’s so important to look after our mental health 🙂 I’m looking forward to the new blog posts, I’m going vegetarian in the new year too, so if you post any recipes that you try out I will be sure to check them out! I hope you have a lovely few days at Christmas and relax as much as you can ♥️
